Imagine a world in which people build websites or products without Splunk, Mixpanel, or Datadog. That would be hard. Yet, for engineers working on modern robotics systems (such as self-driving cars or drones), that’s an analogous reality. These engineers often struggle to make informed decisions about their robots when things aren’t working correctly, and have to hack together solutions in-house.
We're building a platform to ingest, search and analyze the vast amounts of data produced by robots. Our platform ingests data from a wide range of devices (such as cameras, lidars, radars, batteries, motors, and more), and then allows engineers to analyze and transform it. It’s AI. It's robotics. It’s autonomous systems. It’s the future. And it’s going to be huge. Join us!
We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our founding team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating groundbreaking new user experiences that use AI to power the search, analysis and visualization of sensor data. We expect you to be deeply familiar with modern web technologies and have prior experience building products at high growth startups.

ABOUT US
We are a small but mighty (and growing) group with a mission to help the industry build better robots and bring them to market faster. Our founding team is made up of experts in robotics, machine learning, computer vision and more. In past lives—we were founding engineers on the Amazon Prime Air team, led autonomy and simulation initiatives at Amazon Robotics, and implemented machine learning solutions from AWS into numerous Fortune 500 companies. We also count the Paul Allen Institute for AI as a co-founder, one of the world’s leading A.I. research institutions. We recently raised seed funding from some incredible investors, and we’re now moving fast to build for our customers.
WHY JOIN
BCG forecasts that the global robotics market will climb from $25 billion in 2021 to upwards of $260 billion by 2030. McKinsey forecasts that the global shared autonomous-driving market alone will be roughly $1.6 trillion by 2030. By any measure—the robotics industry is going to be huge—with the majority of that growth coming in the next 5-10 years. But what's clear is that the industry doesn’t have the tools to facilitate that growth.
As a seed-funded startup, we also have several unique benefits that you can’t really get anywhere else:
- Personal impact — The opportunity to build something from the ground up and define a new product.
- Founding title — You will be one of our first hires. For the rest of our days, no matter how many thousands of people join after you, you will always have that honor and distinction.
- Early stage equity — Early stage risk comes with early stage equity for you. And none of us would be here if we didn’t think that our company will create tremendous value over time.
- Access to unique learning opportunities — With the Allen Institute for AI (AI2) as a co-founder, our team gets access to numerous talks by leading AI researchers/paper authors, access to knowledge sharing amongst the community of hundreds of engineers that work for AI2 companies, and much more.
Base salary range: $150,000 - $175,000
Total compensation, which includes equity, determined based on experience

ABOUT US
US health systems spend billions annually on clinical and administrative workflows that can be optimized with AI. These workflows cover a wide range of tasks including quality reporting, claims processing and clinical informatics. Completing these tasks often requires clinical experience so clinicians spend hundreds of hours per year on tasks that have no direct impact on patient care. Yet these tasks and the resulting data are vital for operations and long-term care quality improvement.
We use generative AI to assist clinicians with the data access, transformation and clinical inference steps that are key to health system operations. Tools like large language models allow flexibility when dealing with health data and can avoid the need for extensive dataset gathering and retraining. We believe that the application of AI to healthcare requires both high accuracy results as well as the production of supporting evidence.
WHAT YOU’LL DO IN THIS ROLE
We are looking for a business development leader to build partnerships and shape the direction of our product. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare SaaS sales and experience establishing pilot relationships with health systems directly or through their innovation centers.

- Conduct customer discovery interviews to shape the short and long term visions for our product, including working alongside the founders to define the initial customer profile.
- Build our pipeline of customers, including development partnerships to pilot our product, through outreach and our advisors.
- Work closely with users to ensure product success and uncover additional business opportunities.
- Develop distribution and marketing strategies.
- Help direct the development of customer-facing software and experiences.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
The best candidates do not always match the limited criteria mentioned in the job description. If you are excited about the potential of generative AI to help health systems and feel that you could be a valuable asset to our team, please apply.
What we look for:
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare SaaS sales or startup business development experience.
- Ability to understand the product you are selling as an expert.
- Well organized, and you know how to qualify, prioritize, and multi-task effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong drive to win deals and create happy customers.
- Enthusiasm about and exposure to generative AI systems like ChatGPT.
- Desired: Experience with healthcare quality reporting or informatics software.

- Early employee impact — As a member of the very early team, you will play a pivotal role in helping shape our product, team, and culture.

OUR UNIQUE ADVANTAGES:
(Learn more at ai2incubator.com)
1) Strategic Relationship with AI2: The Allen Institute for AI (AI2)—the birthplace of the AI2 Incubator—is a world-renowned institute that conducts research in key areas of AI: language, vision, machine learning, and commonsense reasoning. Annually, AI2 receives $100 million dollars in funding from the Paul Allen estate and other major donors. Known as inventors of seminal works in the field of artificial intelligence such as Yolo and ELMo, AI2 is a magnet for top technical talent, with 10,000+ people from around the world applying for jobs at AI2 each year. We are proud of our strategic relationship with AI2 that allows us to lean into the expertise of 200+ researchers, engineers, professors, and staff who have collectively published nearly 1,000+ research papers at premier AI conferences, with 30+ best paper awards. Further, the AI2 Incubator’s Technical Director Oren Etzioni founded and led AI2 as CEO for 9 years. Vu Ha was a founding member of AI2 and led the development of Semantic Scholar from an idea to its public launch. And more.
2) Private Community of AI-First Founders: We have a vibrant group of dozens of active founders and successful alumni in our community. We gather together on a regular basis in our office, our Slack workspace, and at events that we host on a monthly basis. These amazing people may become your coaches, friends, knowledge-sharing partners, and more, all working together to help each other succeed.
3) Applied Foundation Models Expertise: Large-scale foundation models such as GPT and DALL-E have taken the world of AI by storm. Previous AI tasks—from text categorization to object detection—can now be accomplished with much less curated labeled data. This is huge for many companies building AI solutions using prior technologies. However, the new and even more exciting frontier is the exploration of using foundation models to generate things from email prose to software code, from design artifacts to visual arts. Companies such as Hugging Face and Stability AI continue to make steady progress making foundation models easily accessible, and the cost of training and running these types of models continues to decrease rapidly. We have a ton of experience in turning these important technological advances into impactful products and companies.
4) And Much More: Once you have capital and early customer usage, now it's time to scale your business. But there are lots of ways to do this, and each has its own pros and cons: Expand your customer base? Expand your product offering? Expand your geographical reach? Expand your team? How do you prioritize? How do you know if you’re making the right decisions? We’ve been there multiple times and we can help you work through them to success. Who knows what the future will hold for your startup, or for the world of AI. Perhaps it will fulfill its promise and usher in a new era of prosperity and enlightenment, or maybe it will just usher in a new era of low-quality cat videos. Only time will tell. Regardless, you will face many challenges. But whatever they are, we’ll tackle them together. We’re your cofounder, every step of the way.
DIVERSITY:
At the AI2 Incubator, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive environment and to encourage these values in our wider entrepreneurship community. We provide an environment of mutual respect where equal entrepreneurial support opportunities are available to all founders without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy (including childbirth, lactation and related medical conditions), national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information (including characteristics and testing), military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law. We believe that diversity and inclusion among our founders is critical to the success of our incubator and our spin-outs, and we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. Invitation to our incubator program is decided purely on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.
