About the opportunity:
We are on a mission to disrupt the car ownership experience and help people who rely on their vehicles everyday save time and money on one of their most expensive, time-consuming and high-maintenance assets. Over the past year, we have invested heavily in our employee resources to support each of our team members' unique journeys as we continued to scale our company. We are looking for a dedicated Learning and Development Manager to help continue building on our culture of excellence and support our employees' careers throughout their life cycle. As our founding L&D expert, you will work closely with senior leaders and department heads to build out a robust L&D function, curate technical content, and design and implement new hire and continuous training programs across our entire organization. Reporting to our Director of People Operations, you will be the go-to person for all professional development discussions and resources, own our suite of L&D initiatives end-to-end, and ensure that all employees receive necessary training and development opportunities to excel in their roles, and that our team members never stop learning and growing. How you will make an impact:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and administer a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires
Identify organization-wide skills gaps, create customized business and technical training programs to close specific gaps within each business unit (e.g. curricula and courseware, training guides, performance support materials, and reference documents)
Design, develop, and deploy learning solutions including participant manuals, leader guides, job aids, online content, and procedure manuals
Partner with management, performance consultants, and subject matter experts, and measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training efforts, transfer of learning, and impact of learning on business results
Manage instructional design resources and vendors to support the delivery of business unit learning solutions
Review and analyze job descriptions and career path models to identify areas of opportunity within performance development across the organization
Leverage multiple modalities and the 70-20-10 golden learning source ratio to ensure our team members receive effective training and development that directly influences their career growth at Jerry
Facilitate workshops for all levels of the company, including, management, individual contributors and insurance agents
Who you are:
Strong business acumen to support a high performance work environment
Solutions-driven with an analytical approach to problem-solving
Highly adaptable and will thrive in a rapidly changing, ambiguous startup environment
Exceptional coaching skills, excellent communication skills, and planning/project management skills are also essential
Ideal background:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related (e.g. Technical Writing, Educational Psychology, etc.)
Master's degree in Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Training and Development or related strongly preferred
5+ years of L&D experience in tech or startup environment
Proven track record in designing and implementing successful, customized learning and development programs for different departments/teams
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
Experience building and scaling processes and systems at a fast-growing company
Experience working with e-learning platforms and practices
