We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer, Release Specialist eager to own and improve the release operations within Pinterest’s core engineering organization. You’ll be managing releases across the org (frontend, backend and mobile) with a primary focus on developing and maintaining automated processes that facilitate smooth and efficient software releases at Pinterest.

What you’ll do:

  • Work hands-on to ensure regular and high quality deployment of services
  • Own and improve the tools and processes for release management; in particular, our Spinnaker CI/CD pipelines
  • Work across teams and organizations to quickly unblock releases while holding a high bar for quality
  • Conduct root cause analysis for releases blocking issues as well as remediation tasks to prevent future blocks
  • Create and present useful insights and analytics that improve efficiency of our deploys

What we’re looking for:

  • 2+ years experience managing continuous user-facing release, e.g., web or mobile
  • Excellent communication with experience collaborating across teams
  • Interest in creating process as well as building release pipelines
  • Experience using tools of release and quality: Jira, SQL, Spinnaker, Git, Jenkins, Buildkite
  • Comfortable writing scripts in Python, Bash, Javascript to automate releases
