About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Software Engineering Manager reporting to one of our Engineering Directors.
The role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on while leading a team of software engineers. If you are interested in not only designing solutions but also shaping the software development culture for a growing team, this role would be a great fit.

What you’ll do
- Plan: Work with our Product and UX teams to understand customer needs and plan highly iterative, lean approaches to address those needs
- Scale: Guide the team to overcome all of the challenges that come with rapidly scaling a company, from technical scaling challenges to human growth scaling challenges
- Collaborate: Partner with other roles such as Product,UX, Architecture, ML, and DevOps to rapidly deliver solutions to our customers that also serve our long-term business objectives
- Inspire: Lead and motivate the team to embrace a high-performance culture where we all aspire to greatness
What you’ll bring
- Experience: 7+ years of experience as an individual contributor and 2+ years of technical leadership in a high growth, scaling company managing senior engineers
- Technical Leadership: A history of delivering scalable technical solutions that solve customer problems and scale as the business grows.
- Team player: Ability to lead a team as well as work alongside them
- Soft skills: Great communication skills, an empathetic approach to teamwork, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high performance development environment
