We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Director of Data. Reporting to the COO, the Head of Data will be responsible for leading data-driven decision-making across the organization by providing teams with the data infrastructure, pipelines, tools, and insights they need to make informed decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including senior executives, growth/marketing, product, engineering, GTM, and finance, to proactively identify opportunities and improve outcomes by leveraging key market, business, and product facts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the company's data strategy, ensuring that data is at the forefront of decision-making across the organization
  • Proactively, and in partnership with the functional organizations, identify areas where data can be impactful to GTM, R&D, and G&A teams. Taking into account the company’s product, buyer journey & sales motion, market context, and specific needs for metrics and analysis, you will build efficient and scalable data pipelines and interactive insights and visualizations that enable data-driven decisions across Weights & Biases
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists and data platform engineers
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of data-driven initiatives and adjust as necessary to ensure maximum impact

Must Have

  • A strong background in end-to-end data science and analytics (from data engineering through insight generation), with a focus on business outcomes and proactive, cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven experience in driving data-driven decision-making across an organization
  • Experience with a variety of data visualization tools and techniques. Our evolving data stack currently includes Google BigQuery, Segment, dbt, Dagster, Stitch, Monte Carlo, Census, Tableau, and Mixpanel
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

  • Proactive: driven to be the “advance scout” - understanding our product & market context and identifying areas where data can be impactful to optimize our activities
