Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with pursuit of strategic research collaborations leveraging Genesis AI platform, including diligence support and structuring of collaboration models
• Assist with pursuit of strategic asset partnerships for Genesis’ internal pipeline, including identification of potential partners and assessment of treatment landscape / differentiation
• Analyze comparable deals to inform potential terms for platform and/or asset partnerships
• Provide alliance management support across Genesis’ existing research collaborations
• Support external communications / media strategy and manage external vendors
• Support technology oriented deals, as needed
• Contribute to other corporate strategy initiatives and investor relations topics, as needed
• Support all other activities across end-to-end business development processes, including external meetings and internal cross-functional and executive alignment

Candidate Profile:

• Currently in a Business Development / Corporate Strategy role either within a pharmaceutical or biotech company OR currently in a strategy consulting firm that provides services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies
• Prior experience supporting business development and/or corporate/R&D strategy work in life sciences, including primary/secondary research and quantitative/qualitative analyses
• Strong understanding of drug development and the biotech/pharmaceuticals landscape
• Experience in life science transactions, oncology, computational drug discovery, small molecules, and pre-clinical / early clinical (P1-P2) assets would be preferred, but not required
• Strong Excel modeling and Powerpoint skills
• Excellent communication, listening and strong presentation skills
• A degree in life sciences or related field, PhD or MBA preferred
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, if required, approximately 10% of the time

Responsibilities:

• Formulate medicinal chemistry strategies and utilize the Genesis platform to execute drug discovery programs from Hit ID through candidate nomination.
• Use SBDD principles, optimize physiochemical properties, interpret in vitro and in vivo ADME/PK/Toxicology data, and understand in vitro and in vivo biology data to drive programs.
• Use data visualization software and metric based analysis to form medicinal chemistry hypothesis and prioritize strategies.
• Work with other drug discovery disciplines (biology, DMPK, software engineers, computational chemists) to drive hypothesis driven decisions, improve the platform and contribute to the scientific excellence of the company.
• Communicate and engage regularly with project team members and management.
• Manage a team of CRO chemists anywhere in size from 5-20.
• Mentor internal chemists as well as other scientific disciplines on medicinal chemistry principles.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• PhD in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry with at least 8 years of industrial drug discovery experience OR
• MS in synthetic organic chemistry with at least 14 years of industrial drug discovery experience.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Expert medicinal chemistry knowledge with SBDD and physical property-based optimization of drug-like space.
• Expert and metric-based and data visualization to drive prioritization and efficiency.

You will

• Work on MD scoring improvements such as force field development, solvation energy calculations, and QM/MM techniques, that will integrate with our sampling / simulation pipelines and ML models for absolute binding free energy prediction
• Improve the accuracy of our ML/MD predictors on our multi-target potency benchmarks, consisting of thousands of carefully curated potency datapoints and protein-ligand structures across many challenging, high-value protein targets from a diverse set of target classes

• A PhD-level researcher with publications in the field of free energy calculation or force-field development, preferably for proteins and/or small molecules
• Proficient in statistical mechanics, with a solid understanding of the theoretical and practical trade-offs between various scoring and sampling methods, for the current state-of-the-art absolute and relative binding free energy calculation methods
• A skilled programmer, preferably in Python, such that you can quickly implement your research ideas and analyze their performance across our benchmark suite

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):

• Manage the building out of the Portfolio Management Governance structure.
• Define Portfolio Management best practices, including the use of dashboards, templates, tools, and processes to drive efficiency, alignment, decision making, and communication.
• In close collaboration with Leaders across the company develop and maintain long-range goals and plans.
