We are seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidates will have a wealth of exposure designing high speed PCBs, complex HDI environments, material trade-offs and fabrication steps. A background in electrical engineering, electronics or relevant field is required. Must love all things high speed!
Responsibilities
- Design complex PCB layouts from initial placement, SI and PI optimization in tandem with the team, as well as vendor signoffs and production release.
- Create design specs, liaise with vendors and drive new technology adoption.
- Support SI and PI simulations and iteratively improve our best practices.
- Contribute to design and sign-off with ASIC packaging teams both internal and external, ODM partners and internal layout teams.
- Participate in design reviews, providing valuable input from your area of expertise and beyond.
- Document design processes and provide training to other team members as necessary.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in high speed PCB layout design.
- Significant experience in high speed PCB or package design, at least 10Gbps (100GbE, GDDR6, PCIe Gen5+, etc..).
- Familiarity with the ASIC packaging design flow a bonus.
- Exposure to high speed performance metrics, ICR, ERL, COM, NEXT and FEXT is a bonus.
- Well versed in all the latest and greatest features in ECAD tools, tabbed routing, HDI, weave effects.
- Expert in the Cadence Allegro environment, constraints entry, and high speed design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think critically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
