We are hiring a highly experienced team member to create solutions or solve difficult problems with overall networking and other I/O systems requirements and architectures; to be mapped onto SoC/SiP in diverse networking vertical markets. In this role, you will work with your peer system architecture team who will have complementary expertise in your field. You will also partner with world class talents in superscalar CPU and AI compute hardware and software in creating your deliverables.
*This role can be hired on a hybrid basis for any of the following locations: Santa Clara, Austin, Boston, Toronto*

Responsibilities

  • Translate end application use cases and workloads into systems and SoC architecture.
  • Identify IP and determine make or buy; perform due-diligence as well as architect as appropriate.
  • Write parts of relevant SoC specifications, iterate, and upkeep.
  • Help to define APIs and SW/HW contracts and other co-design dependencies.
  • Support direct end customer engagements that help to define use cases and system solutions.
  • Support virtual and global engineering resources, including 3rd parties and joint ventures, in achieving business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required.
  • 15+ years of proven Embedded Processor and Network SoC development experience – from inception to production.
  • Software System architect who has hardware-software system co-design optimization experience in production bound design, especially in networking and I/O workloads.
  • Direct working experiences with open-source platform distributions such as Linux, SONiC.
  • Network protocol knowledge from Physical layer to the Transport layers, and kept up to date on the latest protocols, line speed, and various virtualization and acceleration techniques.
  • Deep knowledge and experiences in the following relevant areas are desirable: (in their respective layers) Ethernet, IP/TCP/UDP, CPRI, TSN, AVTP, PTP, PSP, UEC, RoCE, Slingshot, HPC Ethernet, CAN-FD, AUTOSAR.
  • High speed I/O sub-systems such as PCIe, CXL.io, CXL.mem, and storage and its transport such as NVMe, NVMeOF, Object, and Block storage.
  • High speed network acceleration for both hardware termination and software termination and have insights to do either based on workload needs.
  • Identity, Isolation, Security, and Privacy consequences at every HW layer.
  • Experience with Software and hardware architecture co-design.
  • Experience with AI Datapath integration in embedded SoC.
